I’ve been hearing about Andie Swim for years. Probably from you guys, quite frankly. We’ve been getting more and more questions about this swimwear brand every year, so it was high time we tried it out.
For those of you who haven’t yet heard of Andie Swim, the brand was launched in 2017 by Melanie Travis, after a frustrating attempt to pack for a weekend retreat requiring a swimsuit. She couldn’t find anything she loved, and found herself feeling really vulnerable during the swimsuit shopping experience. As she told Marie Claire, there’s “a huge disconnect between the pervasive marketing imagery that was out there for women’s swim and the realities of shopping for swim.”

She set out to make swimsuits that women actually loved to wear, swimsuits that would actually function as…well — something one could swim in. Body inclusivity has always been part of the brand, and most Andie swimsuits come in both regular and long torso options, as well as sizes from XS – 3XL.
Andie uses a refreshingly diverse mix of women as models (ages, body types, skin tones), and five years after their launch, if my IG feed is to be believed, their swimsuits are much-beloved by moms, especially.
Five years ago when Andie Swim first launched, I wasn’t totally enamored. While I loved the brand’s ethos, I was a pretty die-hard bikini fan, and some of the initial Andie swimsuit styles struck me as too conservative. Now, however, not only has their line expanded to include sexier, cheekier styles, but there’s a whole line of bikinis, too.
And, uh…I’m starting to be happier in one-pieces than I was five years ago. 😉
So I ordered three of Andie’s more popular styles (two were recommendations from readers — thank you for that!) and a bikini. After trying them all on, walking around, and even wearing one to the shore…here are my thoughts.
1. Andie Swim: Amalfi One-Piece Swimsuit, Ribbed

Andie’s Amalfi swimsuit is one of their best-selling swimsuits and I can easily see why. I purchased one in the white ribbed fabric, and it is, without exaggeration, one of the most comfortable swimsuits I have ever worn. The ribbed fabric is flattering, soft, comfortable and supportive. The straps are fully adjustable. And furthermore, I’m trying this swimsuit on over black underwear (haha) and there’s no hint of anything see-through.

My only issue with this particular suit is that I found the back too conservative for my taste. The ribbed version of this suit is available in medium bum coverage only, but the Amalfi does have a cheeky option if I’m willing to get it in basic black.
That said, if I was going for basic black, I’d probably be happier with The Fiji. It looks like the Amalfi from the front, but the back is low and strappy, and has cheeky coverage.
2. Andie Swim: Tulum One-Piece Swimsuit

I had high hopes for Andie’s Tulum Swimsuit, but on me, it’s nothing special from the front. Andie lists this swimsuit as having medium bum coverage but maximum bust support, which might be the key. When I click through the model photos for this suit, it looks significantly better on the models with a larger bust. On me, it’s rather underwhelming.
Until you get to the back.

I love how the back of this swimsuit looks. It’s fun and sporty, and even a little sexy. It’s a great suit. I didn’t love, however, that the straps were tight enough to squeeze my back, creating a few rolls.
I did try sizing up one size (photos below) to see if that would help the tight straps, but the size difference seemed to be in the bottom and bust.

This one also went back, but if you are looking for a gorgeous suit with good bust support and medium coverage, I do highly recommend it.
3. Andie Swim: Paloma One-Piece Swimsuit

Now this one, Andie’s Paloma Swimsuit, was my absolute favorite (and a reader recommendation — thank you!!). I loved the girl-next-door vibes from the front, and the back is ridiculously sexy. The coverage is cheeky (and gets a little more so after walking around — see photo below), and the straps are fully adjustable. The peek of side-boob didn’t hurt, either. In my case, you can actually see my mastectomy scar, but these are things we don’t worry about.

Like the others, I tried this one on with black underwear (NOT see-through), and took it to Ocean City, where it was fully tested at the waterpark and beach. Even when wet, this swimsuit remains completely opaque, and wildly comfortable. Highly recommend.
4. Andie Swim: Valencia Bikini Top + High-Waisted Cheeky Bottom
I love when I can comfortably sit in a bikini, and Andie’s Valencia Top + High Waist Cheeky Bottoms are pretty great this way. They’re both ribbed, soft and wildly comfortable. I ended up keeping the top (it goes with tons of bikini bottoms I already own) but I wasn’t totally in love with these bikini bottoms. While I appreciate the nice, high waist and leg opening, it’s almost like they were…too soft? I don’t mind a high-waist bikini bottom that holds me in a little, and these were more soft than supportive.
That’s it! I’ll follow this up with a more in-depth review of the Paloma, soon. But I’d love to know if you guys have tried Andie Swim, and if you have, which pieces are your favorites? I was really freaking impressed with the ribbed fabric (especially in white — swoon), but am curious how the others feel on.
