I wore a lot of Italian suits in the 90s, and they were just fashion-forward enough to look decidedly dated now. I mean it’s case by case, but unless a suit is strictly classic, it WILL look dated after 20+ years.
Of course, if you’re older (are these suits you bought then?), you can pull off a dated suit (it’s called “old man power”), but if you’re young and have thrifted them… meh. I do know young creatives who plunder the vintage stores and put together retro looks, so if you do it confidently and it’s your “look”, by all means, 90s-Italian-away.
(That said, I think wider lapels are en route again, so… we shall see. Maybe I can trot out those mid-90s Zegna suits.)
