Over the past 11+ years of coaching health and fitness I’ve had the joy of watching many of my clients sprout wings and soar to great heights within the fitness world. Behind every image of lean, hard and toned bodies lies a unique story. Every journey is different, but they all share one very important common thread. They were all beginners once. They all tried an exercise for the first time, perhaps clumsily or unsure of the right way to do it. They all had to start.
With the right guidance they all learnt how to exercise their bodies properly, the value of consistent training and the great benefits of healthy eating. Who knows where your fitness journey could lead you? What starts out as “I just want to get a little fitter and maybe lose some body-fat” could one day lead you to the fit, strong and energetic body that you’d never imagined possible. You just need to start! These people all started somewhere once too:
Meet Christian De-Stoop:
I remember drilling Christian on one of our many sessions on how to do a deadlift and squat safely. We dead-lifted again and again and again, all focusing on technique and correct form. Then we followed that up with squats. And let me tell you, he didn’t look like this when I first met him! Luckily this time spent focusing on the right exercises was not time wasted. Christian transformed his body and made a great debut on the competitive natural bodybuilding scene.
Look at the amazing transformation he achieved:
Christian has gone on to become a successful personal trainer working from Vision Personal Training out of Woongarrah Sydney over the last 5 years. For the last 3 years he has been a nationally recognised award finalist within the Vision PT empire. As with most great Personal Trainers Christian has learnt from many of the best conditioning coaches and personal trainers in the industry to make himself into the athlete and trainer that he is today. I’m very happy to have contributed to his journey!
Here we have Milla Boulden.
In the short time I’ve known Milla she has absolutely exploded onto the scene. I first met Milla when she was still a high school student and she came to me about her dream to compete in a bikini model competition. She didn’t know much about training but quickly set her sights on learning everything there was to know. She completely blew me out of the water with her drive and determination. Since meeting Milla she has gone on to win numerous natural figure competitions and is now making her mark in big international shows. What an achievement!
Milla has gone on to become a successful personal trainer working from Virgin Health Club in Moore Park. I can guarantee you this is only the tip of the iceberg with this girl. She’ll be a force to be reckoned with in the fitness world. As with most great Personal Trainers Milla has learnt from many of the best conditioning coaches and personal trainers in the industry to make herself into the athlete and trainer that she is today. I’m very happy to have contributed to her journey!
This ripped individual is Aidan Holden. I remember Aidan when he was just a skinny high school student. He came to me because he wanted to put on some bulk for Rugby season. His fitness was pretty good and he had a great drive and determination with his weight training. With the right guidance you could see Aidan was getting more and more motivated as the results kept coming. With Aidan I drilled him on diet repeatedly trying to teach him that he needed to eat more quality and quantity of particular foods and nutrients to bulk. Did it sink in? Well his debut into bodybuilding competition says yes it did!
Aidan has gone on to become a successful personal trainer working from Vision Personal Training out of Sydney. As with most great Personal Trainers Aidan has sought out the knowledge and expertise from many of the best conditioning coaches and personal trainers in the industry to make himself into the athlete and trainer that he is today. In addition to competing on stage Aidan has even done a bit of work as an underwear model. I’m very happy to have contributed to Aidans journey in training, competing and starting a strong fitness based career!
Meet Eliza Banks. Eliza started training with me in January 2013 and very quickly found a drive to compete. She quickly added the gym into her daily lifestyle and began to focus on correct exercise technique. You could see the happy energy exploding out of this girl as she powered her way through her workouts. What started out as an idea quickly turned into a reality and very soon Eliza was in contest condition.
Eliza has gone on to become a very successful competitor. Her highlight so far is an illustrious 1st place in the ANB when she competed in Newcastle. She now has her sights set on the Asia Pacific title on the 11th of June. With her dedicated approach to her training she is bound to blitz the field! As with most great competitors Eliza has sought out and learnt from many of the best conditioning coaches and personal trainers in the industry to make herself into the athlete that she is today.
While each of these peoples journeys were unique, they all share one common feature, at one stage they were each “newbies” to the gym. They all tried an exercise for the first time. They all had to start. With the right guidance they all learnt how to exercise their bodies properly, the value of consistent training and the great benefits of healthy eating.
